- Unless I am comfortable with the idea of dropping out of Northwestern University, I am not doing RPWriMo. In fact, as the quarter winds down, I may be around even less, as I attempt to cram into my brain all the knowledge that I failed to absorb in September/October.
- Nevertheless, I have two logs to start/do.
- Heather needs to go. There have been several signs telling me that it is time (my personal failure to explore fully her only interesting plot, her continual absence from BHH-group filters, my inability to name a friend of hers that she doesn't share a surname with), and I really ought to heed them.
- This will leave me with Steve and two comic relief characters, total. I am okay with that. I think.
- I also have thoughts on Swapgate '09, but those will have to wait for their own post, after it's all over, but here is a short summary of my characters so far, since none of my logs are up:
- On the evening of November 2, Ragnar came to Capes to get his guitar back from Annie Brewski. He set off Dorothy's lasers in the second floor girls' hallway, and ultimately left without the guitar. There will be a log.
- After a series of mild, painless visions, Steve kicked his werewolf roommate out and came to the conclusion that he was the new Cassandra. The old Cassandra came over to give him hugs and drugs. Then he had a rather unpleasant seizure vision. It involved death. There will be a log.
- Heather got sexiled by her loser roommate and a robot. She has no "real" powers, and is surprised at how much she misses hers. She is also in a bad mood.
- Drake has alternately been sulking about how much he misses his feet and getting drunk with Rob Brewski. Also, staying out of drama.

Essentially, she will be losing her powers and gaining a bunch of knowledge about guns. She won't actually have any guns, but I think the change should be fairly apparent to her, even if she doesn't know exactly who Dan is. "I can't do anything, and all of a sudden, I'm totally a master tactician! Like wtf! I am totally one of those violent Science nerds."
Steve Glass-Newton -> Violet Broome
Cole Jones -> Steve Glass-Newton
So Steve's going to forget everything he knows about advanced biology, and he's going to gain magical powers and, more importantly, visions. I don't think the magic will be apparent to him right away, since that's something that must be harnessed and controlled. However, I think he'll figure out he's got Violet's powers, and therefore magic, at the first mild vision. I can't see him not wanting to experiment with what it's like to use magic, but he'll definitely bring it all up with her. And then at some point, he'll have a painful vision attack. Uh oh.
Violet usually has a few mild visions a day, though, so if anyone has anything planned for the swap time that they'd like foreshadowed, let me know?
Ragnar Rasmussen -> Jacob Fitzgerald
Annie Brewski -> Ragnar Rasmussen
Ragnar will be so pissed. Thor trusted him with Mjollnir's Shredding Axe of Terror, and it's his and only his responsibility to care for it and wield it. Normally, in fact, he's the only one who can wield it, so he will be surprised when he sees Annie actually using the guitar. He will start a fight. He will probably concentrate more on the potentially offensive side of Jacob's powers than the X-ray vision thing... although honestly I think he will wake up on the first, see everyone naked, think it's some sort of nudist day that nobody told him about, and start walked around without his clothes. Maybe.

omg maybe I should stop having a life. I was really drunk last night, and I lost my keys, and I have no idea where they could be. This is an issue.
Also, I have missed so much shit at Neo. I feel like I don't even know half the characters on my Neo flist anymore. This is also an issue.
In unrelated news, one of my RP biggest pet peeves is when people have their characters regurgitate facts from Wikipedia/elsewhere for little to no reason in the hopes that doing so will show how smart their characters are. Real people don't do this unless they're gigantic tools. Of course, I have probably done this a bajillion times for Steve or someone without realizing it.
What bothers you guys? |

I think I am going to need to take a pseudo-hiatus. Or as Louis would call it, a soft break. As in, I really can't concentrate on RP right now, but I don't want to abandon it altogether. I'll still be around somewhat for memes and things, and I'll comment where I can and when I feel like it, but I won't go out of my way to force myself into activity. I just can't handle that right now.
But if anyone wants to do a nice, leisurely log, that might help me get back into the swing of things, idk.
Oh btw Raina? I totally went to the first Northwestern Quidditch meeting today. It was glorious.

I bit the bullet and dropped Cara. SORRY if anyone had plot with her, but she just wasn't turning out in play like I wanted her to, and I wasn't invested enough in her to work on it like I should have. My failure on the TJ plot is all the proof I needed that it wasn't working. :\
So now I can choose one of three options:
1. Do not replace her (probably best option, considering my schedule).
2. Replace her with that half-finished hand-to-hand teacher app I've been sitting on for ages.
3. Replace her with AN ALIEN. More on this later. |

What type of character archetypes would you like to eventually play?
Super Hetero Dude
In theory, Drake is this. But I still don't think I've quite achieved a satisfactory level of brotasticness. Part of this is indeed the fact that I rarely have the chance to observe the average heterosexual male, as almost all the ones I know are theater or music majors. So not manly. Also, no matter how much he likes the pussy, it is hard to get with the ladies when you do stuff like get turned into a booby.
Old Person
I think my oldest character ever was Funk, who was only in his mid/late thirties. Sure, he had a lot of life experience, especially compared to a lot of people around him, but he still wasn't very old. Sometimes, I question if I have sufficient life experience to play someone of advanced age, but if Allison can play an octogenarian, surely I can manage some sort of senior citizen.

Because I've never done it before, and I know a lot of people who have and who enjoy it immensely. Yes, I like to diversify, but I have totally ignored that minority of people who do indeed find love. Just the concept of "made for each other," "one true love," etc. escapes my RPing entirely. The closest I've gotten was, I think, Heather/Sandals, which happened by accident, and there were Feelings there, but not Love. And Rory and I never plan on being gay together, I swear. Cairo.

Because I can't play a smart person without making them into a total nerd.
EDIT: Rae! You can't tell because I am a fail, but Heather and Connor are totally visiting their locked-up parents on the same day. I thought that was kind of cool. |

Ok, so I am dead, but I am dead in Evanston, so that's ok. My single is bigger than I thought it would be. I think I have more closet space. Yay, closet space.
I think this year's freshmen are actually gayer than last year's. I wasn't sure it was possible, but there you have it. There is a guy whose nickname is "Glitterwolf." That is, imho, the perfect mixture of fabulous and badass.
Also, that Heather narrative is so not going to be on time. Fail, self.
