So, I've been busier than I anticipated this Thanksgiving weekend, and I think that being social irl is making me feel weird and anti-social online. It's kind of been in the works for a while now, not feeling particularly talkative, but idk. Sitting here and knitting seems preferable to talking to much of anyone right now. |

| | pensive | ] | Hufflepuff loss today, and Corrie is very upset. It would've been easier for her to take it if her mum hadn't been watching. But she doesn't realize that Meaghan really does love her unconditionally, so she's expecting something like, "You, Disappointment! You are hereby disowned! Away with you!" She doesn't know her mother as well as she thinks.
And Meaghan doesn't know her as well as she thinks either, to be honest. They're both going to be surprised, but Meaghan will be a bit more horrified than anything else. She has no real understanding of how much she's affected her children. Sigh. I wish she didn't have such a hard time communicating and being supportive. But still, no need to run off to Zimbabwe, Corrie. |

So. Bruce Wayne. Comic canon version - tall, built, black (or dark brown, whatever) hair, blue eyes, caucasian, well-dressed, serious-looking. Not Christian Bale. Preferably over the age of thirty.

Forgive me if this isn't allowed, but I seem to remember a community on GJ that had a long list of actors/actresses in period films (with photo examples). I'm hoping to do some historical lines soon so I was wondering if anything like that exists here on IJ. I try to use believable faces whenever possible. |

Anyone have any suggestions for a 6th Year/16 year old Melinda Bobbin? I'm not incredibly picky, although I tend to prefer pbs with a good selection of high res images, because I like to pretty up my character journals with graphics. I'd also like someone with a good variety of expressions for iconalbility.
Other than that, I'm not picky. The books don't say much about her appearance, I don't think, so I'm open to just about any look, really. |

| [FLEETS] NCIS?? |
[Nov. 27th, 2009|09:04 pm] |
HELLO FELLOWS. So, Sheena, Maddie, Shawna and I have been thinking: what fleets needs more of is blatant rip-offs of military television shows. Our television show of choice? NCIS, motherlovers. Right now we have versions of Tony, Gibbs, Ziva, and Abby on the docket; I know a few people are apping forensic people of some kind, so we will probably hit you up for a Ducky. Or you should hit us up. Or something. There will be hitting. We still need a McGee, and maybe a Palmer and/or director of some kind idkkkk. ANYWAY, lovedbythesun, a_chroi, and ikhan, you should put up stuff about your characters here. And plot things.
HERE IS THE BASIC RUNDOWN OF MINE: He is still in the works, but I know that he is currently not military--he's some kind of intelligence officer, though I have to figure out which branch of the government. He'll probably be with the NSA/CSS, and be a specialist in languages, codes, cryptology, and FILING. But that all might change; he is sort of on the backburner at present. What I do know about him is that he's a stickler for protocol and a firm believer in the power of paperwork and accuracy--bitches, you will be signing all forms in triplicate forever. He was born outside the US and English isn't his first language, so while he's aces at breaking codes, he occasionally fucks up basic colloquialisms and words, and please do not ask him about current internet slang. "What is 'lulz'?" This will be an IC question.
edit. Unrelated, but I've decided Joss/Ryan Gosling PB's callsign is going to be Brawny. As in paper towels. Because he is known for wearing red flannel and cleaning shit. |

| [ | mood |
| | irate | ] | So I was going to write this lovely happy entry today about how this morning, teh boy came in from checking on the dogs across the street and then climbed into bed and was FREEZING COLD and how I was yelling at him for being a sparklepire and then started pondering how the idea of sharing a bed with someone who is always FREEZING COLD and never ever gets warm could ever be even remotely sexy, BUT
I'm too rageful to do that because my editing client (for whom I spent two days working through his ridiculous chemistry paper on chicken selenoenzymes and hepatocytes and blah blah blah it was like dropping my eyes in HCl) refuses to take an hour out of his weekend to chat with me about the editing suggestions like he agreed to do before he sent me his paper because he has to "prepare to examination."
I e-mailed my professor and he was like, "No, you have to chat with this guy or else you fail" so I'm kind of irate right now and hating people. |

Life is quieter when Mom doesn't have five pies and sixty rolls to bake. But I'm still going to have a dang hard time keeping up with my tags, I think.
It's really interesting to see the difference between what Teddy and Victoire want. Or what they think they should be doing to prepare for the baby. Teddy's focused on working hard to make money, and doing his part to provide. He doesn't understand the point of the "baby things," and he doesn't know what Victoire wants, so he's leaving that to her for the most part - although I think he said something a couple months ago about having found curtains, but he obviously didn't show them to her. Maybe he went over to talk to her about them and found she'd already bought something completely different, so he was like, well, it was apparently the wrong choice anyway, so I'd better just stay out of it.
I have heard that men (sometimes) work long hours to show their love, because that work means more money for their families. It seems like that's what Teddy's doing here. And I intended to have him go through a bit of "I'm not ready for this" panic, partly to understand his father better and partly because, well, he's only twenty-five. Of course he's panicking about being tied down, and worried he's not good enough to be a husband and father (even though he has always wanted that... eventually). But it's interesting to see both sides and understand both sides. |
